Organic growth

The marketing around search. Strategy and planning, independent audits, email marketing and social media, for when the question is broader than SEO or the website.

These are usually the parts that decide whether search work pays off, and often the reason it has not.

How this connects to search

SEO and website work answer a narrow question: can people find you, and does the site hold up once they arrive. This is the wider one.

A search strategy is only as good as the business decision underneath it. If the proposition is unclear, or nobody has agreed which customers matter most, SEO will succeed at making the wrong pages easier to find.

That is why an audit or a strategy project is often the right first piece of work even when the enquiry was about search. It is also why email and social sit here rather than under SEO: they reach the people who found you once and were not ready, which search cannot do on its own.

Each piece is useful on its own. The reason to put them together is that they answer the same question from different directions, and a plan that treats them separately usually spends more to achieve less.

What sits here

Marketing strategy and planning

Agree the direction and the priorities before more budget goes out. What the business is trying to change, who it needs to reach, and what to do first.

Marketing audits

An independent read on what is already running. What is working, what needs attention and what to stop, across the whole picture rather than search alone.

Email marketing

The list you already have, doing more of the work. Strategy, automation and content for people who are interested but not yet ready to act.

Social media marketing

Social that supports the rest of the marketing rather than running alongside it, planned around the questions your customers are already asking.

When this is not where to start

If you already know search visibility is the constraint, start with SEO. If the website is what is holding things back, start with websites. This tier is for the point where the question is genuinely broader than either, or where nobody is sure which it is.

It is also the wrong purchase at the wrong moment. If what the business needs this quarter is delivery rather than a better plan, a strategy project will feel like a delay, because it is one. I would rather say that in the first conversation than three weeks into the work.

An audit is usually the cheaper way to find out. It tells you what is already working before you commit to changing anything.
