What I am doing
The website is designed to work with current browsers and common assistive technologies. The aim is for people to be able to:
Keyboard access
Navigate the site using a keyboard.
Flexible reading
Use it at different zoom levels without losing important content or functionality.
Clear meaning
Understand headings, links, buttons and form labels clearly.
Mobile access
Use the site on mobile devices.
More than visuals
Access meaningful content without relying only on colour, movement or images.
Accessibility is considered throughout design, content and development rather than treated as a final visual check.
How this website measures up
This website aims to meet WCAG 2.2 level AA. Based on the testing described below, it is believed to meet that standard, with the exceptions listed under Known limitations.
Measured across all pages of the site:
- Every piece of text meets or exceeds the AA contrast minimum, checked against the colour actually rendered behind it, at both desktop and mobile widths.
- Standalone links and controls are at least 24 by 24 pixels, and at least 44 by 44 pixels on touch devices. Links inside a sentence are exempt under the success criterion and are left in the flow of the text.
- No page scrolls horizontally at 320 pixels wide.
- Every page has one main heading, headings run in order without skipping a level, and a skip link lets you jump straight to the main content.
- Every image has a text alternative, and images that are decorative are hidden from screen readers rather than described.
- Every form field has a visible label, and fields asking for your own details tell the browser what they are so it can fill them in for you.
- Movement is switched off for anyone whose device asks for reduced motion.
- Links to a section of a page land clear of the header rather than behind it.
Known limitations
These are the things I know are not perfect.
- The booking calendar is provided by Cal.com and its interface is not under my control. It only loads if you choose to open it. If it creates a barrier, email me and we will arrange a time directly.
- Some decorative movement repeats. A few background shapes and one photograph drift slowly and continuously for anyone who has not asked their device for reduced motion. There is no control on the page to stop it. If your device is set to reduce motion, none of it runs.
- The site has not been independently audited and has not been tested with every screen reader and browser combination.
If any part of the site creates a barrier, please contact me and I will provide the information or an alternative route in a more accessible format.
How this was tested
The website was assessed on 20 September 2026 using automated checks written for this site, run against every page. These measured colour contrast against rendered backgrounds, the size and spacing of interactive controls, heading order, text alternatives, form labelling, reflow at narrow widths and the behaviour of in-page links.
This was self-assessment rather than an independent audit.
